The Preparedness Section contains the following three plans units:
Local and Regional Plans Unit
Plans Management Unit
State and Federal Plans Unit
These units develop and maintain state-level emergency plans, promulgate state standards for local emergency management plans, assist cities and counties in developing emergency plans, and review more than 2,000 local plan documents each year for compliance with state planning standards. The plans units also assist state agencies and local governments with integrating federal requirements into their plans, and coordinate a number of programs with federal agencies, regional groups, and local governments. Finally, the plans units develop tools, templates and guidance to assist planners with emergency plan development.
