SOC-101 - Texas State Operations Center (SOC) Workshop

Texas has a history of being a disaster-rich environment. The Texas State Operations Center (SOC) stands ready (24/7, 365) to support the safety and overall welfare of Texas citizenry and property when critical incidents occur.

This workshop outlines the purpose of the SOC and reviews the statutes and authorities that guide SOC operations. In addition, the workshop recognizes State agency roles, responsibilities and expectations for those asked to serve during increased readiness.

Those who attend will understand and leave prepared to effectively function in their specific agency support role.

Prerequisites & Other Information:
  • Understand what the State Operations Center (SOC) is and the purpose of its existence.
  • Be familiar with the statutes and authorities that guide SOC operations.
  • Recognize State agency roles, tasks, responsibilities and expectations during increased readiness.
  • Understand and prepare to effectively function in a specific role with your agency.
