AWR-158 - Advanced Criminal Intelligence Analysis to Prevent Terrorism (ACIAPT)

Advanced Criminal Intelligence Analysis to Prevent Terrorism training is for law enforcement analysts, investigators, and other public safety personnel who have completed a basic intelligence analysis training course. The training includes instruction and practice in methodologies necessary to analyze a complex combination of all-crimes information in order to find indicators of potential terrorist activity. Students will examine and analyze communication records, financial data, criminal incident reports, bulletins, and open-source information.

During the 5-day training, participants will:
• Use analytic techniques to find patterns, and develop useful intelligence products, charts, and briefings.
• Use case studies to look at ways to reduce analytical biases. 
• Draw conclusions and develop tactical and strategic recommendations from their analysis. 
• Learn and discuss ways to increase the effectiveness of their agency’s role in the bigger picture of Homeland Security.

Prerequisites & Other Information:
Basic level intelligence analysis training such as FIAT or the equivalent is required.
