NFPA 472 Air Monitoring and Sampling for Hazardous Materials, Pro-Board Certification
This 16 hour course is designed to give participants air monitoring skills during response to hazardous materials incidents. By meeting and exceeding NFPA 472 Chapter 6.7 competencies participants in this course that pass the written exam and skills test will attain National Pro-Board certification.
Number of students: 12 minimum / 30 maximum

Proof of completion of of training for all competencies at the Operations level NFPA 472 Chapter 5 Core Competencies for Operations Level Responders and Operations level NFPA Chapter 6.2 PPE Mission Specific competencies, NFPA Chapter 6.2
: The host facility will need to secure and provide a written test proctor prior to the class. The host facility will also provide a secure location with a water source for outdoor activities and skills testing and a classroom location of suitable size for testing and lecture.
Who should attend
: Personnel trained to the hazardous materials operations core competencies level who are assigned to Implement air monitoring and sampling operations at a HazMat/WMD incident.
This class is not intended for Hazardous Materials Technicians.
All HMEP Hazardous Material Courses offered through TDEM are compliant with OSHA 29CFR 1910.120, EPA 40CFR Part 311, NFPA Standard 472 and qualify for TCOLE credit.
Prerequisites & Other Information:
In order to received certification you must provide proof to course host two weeks prior to class start date that you are trained to HazMat Responder Operations Core and Mission Specific PPE competency per chapter 6.2 of NFPA 472. You can provide either a certificate, or a transcript from an accredited agency that lists successful completion of these requirements. It is recommended that you also provide this proof to the instructor on the first day of class.
