Course Overview
The Basic Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Concepts for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) Events, Web-based course is a web-based that introduces students to medical knowledge relating to Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) Events. Subjects include signs and symptoms of exposure to CBRNE agents, treatment protocols for contact with these agents and information about Emergency Medical Services role in the Incident Command System.

Objectives
At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Explain Emergency Medical Services (EMS) management issues, responder consideration, and medical treatments for applications to Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) events.
- Identify the Command and General staff positions, as well as describe the functions of triage, treatment, and transport groups.
- Identify and apply information gathering and responder safety concepts pertaining to a hazardous materials response to Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) events.
- Recognize signs and symptoms associated with various Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) agents and identify basic responder precautions.
